Tom Tippin blends brash thought with infectious melody exploring pain, angst, fear, love, and, acceptance. Born in 2000 on the outskirts of Nashville, TN it didn’t take many years for Tom to figure out music was his calling. The son of platinum selling singer/songwriter Aaron Tippin he couldn’t escape his DNA. He started performing with his parents at a young age. At 18 he released his first EP Teenage Heart and at 21 his EP Wasted Melodies. His latest EP Imposter is a 6-song collection exploring the struggles of Imposter syndrome. Tippin describes it as , “An overwhelming experience of self doubt.” It reflects itself in his heavy-rock opening track, “Nepo Baby.” “I’ve always been cautious about using my dad’s name around town, being worried I wouldn’t be taken as seriously as a musician." Leading to his clever, loose grooved song “Job Security” showcasing his greatest songwriting tool, his adversities. Then to “Sympathy”, a song about feeling misunderstood and looking for comfort in a time of need only to be met with invalidation, moving him further into self-isolation with “Mars.” He then reflects upon himself in “In My Head”, questioning who’s to blame for his strife, wondering if he’s brought this all upon himself out of over reacting. Finally to “Air Quality”, about his partner of many years and her part in guiding him through these struggles and realizing having one another is most important of all.
